Trial Lessons
Bookable trial lesson flight to 2000ft.
This is a fantastic way to experience the joy of soaring over the local countryside. It also makes a wonderful gift. After purchase, you can contact our office team to arrange the best date and time for you to fly with us. A great taster of the sport of gliding for £99, for more pleasure why not add a second flight on the same day for an extra £60, making £159 in total.

Single flight - £99 or two flights on the same day - £159.
Includes one month’s membership, during which you can take additional flights at £60.

Standby trial lesson non-bookable flight to 2000ft
Available on weekdays (not Bank Holidays).

Designed for people who have more flexibility about when they can fly. A wonderful opportunity at only £85, for more pleasure why not add a second flight on the same day for an extra £60, making £145 in total.

Single flight - £85, two flights on same day - £145.
Includes one month’s membership, during which you can take additional flights at £60.

Introductory Courses

Intro Course
An introduction to gliding
2 - 3 lessons with a total aero-tow height of 6000ft

For those who would like a more in-depth experience of soaring flight, two or three flights will give you the opportunity for more hands-on experience at the controls. If you decide that gliding is for you, there is the option of upgrading to another course.

It is also a wonderful gift of a great day out.

2 - 3 lessons with a total aero-tow height of 6000ft - £255
Includes one month’s membership, during which you can take additional flights at £60.

IntroPlus Course
3 - 4 lessons with a total aero-tow height of 8000ft

For those who would like a more in-depth experience of soaring flight, three or four flights will give you the opportunity for more hands-on experience at the controls. If you decide that gliding is for you, there is the option of upgrading to another course.

It is also a wonderful gift of a great day out.

3 - 4 lessons with a total aero-tow height of 8000ft - £315
Includes one month’s club membership, during which you can take additional flights at £60.

2 & 5 Day Courses
Set dates throughout the season (other dates by arrangement), with a small group of students and one or two dedicated instructors, this course is an excellent first step in learning to fly a glider and make the most of soaring flight.

Also makes a great holiday with a difference.
2 Day Course

6 flights plus one hour in the motorglider, ground school, text book,
log book - £400
5 Day Course

18 flights plus one hour in the motorglider, ground school, text book,
log book - £849
Minimum two students, maximum six.
Flights not taken during the course can be flown within 3 months of the start of the course. Discounted club membership available on completion of syllabus.

Flexi Course
A more flexible approach with bookable training, this package covers the same syllabus as the 5 day course but on dates of your choice.

14 flights plus one hour in the motorglider, ground school, text book, log book - £849
Flying to be completed within 3 months. Discounted club membership available on completion of syllabus.

Get your Solo
If you are serious about learning to fly a glider then this is the course for you. Ideally starting with a 5 day course, to kick-start your flying, the course includes all the flying required in both gliders and motorglider to get your solo.
Includes 12 months’ club membership. Discounted club membership available on expiry of course membership.

You will be able to book training slots throughout your course, morning afternoon or an entire day with instruction. Assuming regular flying in order to stay current, the course offers all the training required to get you to solo standard.

All training to get you solo*, ground school, text book, log book.
Includes 12 months’ membership - £2,500

*Assumes 55 flights. Any balance remaining after reaching solo will be credited to your account for further flying.

Conversion Training
If you have a PPL and would like to extend your flying skills with an understanding of soaring flight, this course is for you. Designed to get you solo in a glider, the course will include difference training, exploration of the flight envelope including spinning and an understanding of soaring flight.

Aerobatics Course
If you thought gliding was about going round in circles, think again.
Aerobatics in a glider offer a greater challenge and satisfaction to the pilot and an opportunity to improve handling skills, which will benefit your general flying.

The one day course at weekends consists of:
Full briefings on the flight envelope, the figures to be flown and the difference between aerobatics in power and gliders, post flight de-brief
3 aerobatics flight to 4000ft with a fully qualified aerobatics instructor
in an aerobatics glider - £360

Includes 3 months’ club membership, so you can continue flying at club member's rates after your course.

Upgrades
Available from Trial Lesson and Intro Courses to the Flexi Course,
2 & 5 Day Course and Get your Solo Course.

Discounted Club Membership Offer
Students completing a 2 Day or longer course may join the club on completion of their syllabus at 50% of the pro rata annual fee. This will give you access to the full fleet and eligibility for all club activities including briefings, expeditions and other events.

Top Up
Additional 28,000ft of aero-tow height for pre-solo students joining the club as full members on completion of a 2 Day or longer course - £540

Fuel Surcharge
Flying fees may be subject to a fuel surcharge.

Important Booking Restrictions

AGE
Normal minimum age is 14. There is no upper age limit but please be aware that the participant will need sufficient mobility to climb into and out of a glider.

SIZE
Due to the configuration of the gliders and controls, minimum height is 5’ (1.5m), maximum 6’3’’ (1.9m). Minimum weight is 7 stone (44kg), maximum 16 stone (102kg).

HEALTH
It is your responsibility to declare any medical or other conditions which would affect your fitness to fly. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

ALCOHOL
We cannot fly anybody who is under the influence of alcohol. The permissible levels for flying are much more stringent than for driving a car. You will be asked to sign a declaration that you have not drunk alcohol within 8 hours of your flight and have not ‘binged’ in the previous 24 hours.
